Hi Friends,
Give it a thought....Is your Workforce Energized..?????
There is no denying the fact that your employees b ecome your strength and your greatest asset if treated with respect, trust and compassion. Research has shown that employees who feel good about their jobs are more likely to work hard as compared to those who dislike what they do.
While fair pay is an important factor in keeping an employee happy, there is so much more that your workforce looks for - trust, respect, feedback, training, active partic ipation, having a say in matters, control and above all, the feeling of being needed. Even though most companies realize all this, there are many who still do not give these matters the attention that they deserve.
In order to energ ize your employees and motivate them to give their 100%, here's what you can do -
· & nbsp; Communicate Effectively - One way communication is not enough. Rather, aim for a 2 way communication model that involves your employees in every day tasks and all major discussions.
· Build Trust - Let your employees know that they can trust you. Encourage your workers to talk to the management about anything t hat they may want to ask, discuss or clarify.
· Build Their Confidence - Yo ur employees look to you for motivation, encouragement and confidence. Make sure that you give them this if you want them to give their 100% or more to every task that they attempt. Morale building is just as important as goal setting and performance appraisal.
· Train Them Well - Training is an inseparable part of work lif e and it is your responsibility as an employer to train your people well. Schedule weekly / monthly training / feedback / dis cussion sessions for employees in each department. Send your workforce to attend third party seminars and conferences that ca n help them to gain first hand knowledge of industry trends and latest developments and thus, boost their productivity at wor k.
·& nbsp; Acknowle dge Achievements - Just as it is important to point out mistak es, it is also essential to acknowledge and congratulate an employee for a job well done. Whenever a department / employee ac hieves more than the set targets, make sure to share their happiness and reward them / him in the form of bonus, trophies etc .
A small gesture on your part can truly motivate your employees to do even better the next time.
